The ALBERT LEA PUBLIC LIBRARY is working to connect you with the books you want, the information you need, and the community you live in.

Looking for the Library Card Application

Loan Periods for Albert Lea Public Library Materials:

All Items may be renewed ONCE with the exception of material with outstanding requests. Remember eligible items can be renewed online, by phone or at the Library.

  • DVD's (both Children/Adult) 3 Days
  • Adult Magazines 7 Days
  • New Books 14 Days
  • Book (Fiction/Non-Fiction Books), All Audio Books, Music CD’s
  • All Children's Material (except DVD's) 21 Days
  • AV Equipment 24 Hours

IMPORTANT NOTE:

If you receive a book through Inter-Library Loan it is from ANOTHER Library.  The book is due according to the policies of the LENDING Library.  Be sure to check the receipt or the blue slip. Remember you can always access your account online to renew items, check due dates and fines.

Other Applicable Fees:

There is $1.00 charge (pre item) for Inter-Library Loan materials that are not picked up in the 10 day period.

There is a $3.00 charge for replacing a library card for the third (3rd) time in a 12 month period.

Internet Access

The Information Library has 10 computers available to the public. Patrons can login through the Pharos system using their library card number as the ID and the last 4 digits of their telephone number as the password. There is a time limit of 60 minutes a day, with 2 logins.

The Children's library has 8 computers. Children can login through the Pharos system using their library card number as the ID and the last 4 digits of their telephone number as the password. There is a time limit of 60 minutes a day, with 2 logins.

The library also offers wireless access free.

Library Computer Lab:

The Library has a new computer lab with 10 classroom computers. This lab is made possible by an LSTA Grant. There will be regularly scheduled classes for Seniors so be sure to call and ask about our "You're Never Too Old to Click'n Scroll" Program.

Individual assistance is also available for computer instruction.   Appointment required in advance at a time that is convenient for both the patron and the librarian.   Call the library at 377-4350 to schedule appointment.
